Inspired by the sword and sorcery genre, the world of Eyra takes inspiration from stories of characters like Conan the Barbarian, Red Sonja and Tarzan. The game's gameplay and mechanics are based on titles such as Rastan Saga, Cadash, Castlevania, Blades of Vengeance and Jill of the Jungle. A 16-bit version port of the game to Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis has also been announced as part of a stretch goal for the NES games Kickstarter campaign.
