The gameplay of BS Fuurai no Shiren: Surara wo Sukue is substantially similar to the earlier roguelike, Fushigi no Dungeon 2: Fuurai no Shiren, a game released for the SFC on December 1, 1995 and subsequently localized for English markets in March 2008 as Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer for the Nintendo DS.
